There’s something about this piece that I still recall loving, alongside its relaxing process, in the moment. Was it the sky, flowers, or comets? The comfort zone element of the chosen subject matter? There was so much for me to have fun experimenting with; making a mess out of things, painting layers upon layers over, messily, is so freeing.
At the time, I commented about feeling like I’d been slowing down lately. It was through practicing techniques that were new to me at the time that I was allowed to enjoy the process further, working faster than I expected in a while.
